Does having frequent intercourse increase the possibility of pregnancy? –
It takes about 60 days for the sperm to be produced and another 10 – 15 days for these sperms to mature. After this maturity, these sperms are stored inside a bag like structure called epididymis inside the scrotal bags. Every time a male release sperms, some sperms are being released from, these scrotal bags. So if you are having intercourse for about 3 – 4 times in a day, with each passing ejaculate, the number of sperms in the semen are only going to reduce. In a female there is only one or 2 eggs released every month, somewhere around the 14th to 16th day of her period. So if you are having intercourse from the 5th day of her cycle in about 3 -4 times in a day, this frequency will reduce the sperm counts ads the day keeps progressing. So it is more likely that by the day 10 or day 14, when you actually need sperms for the egg fertilization, the number of sperms in your semen is low. The sperms can survive in the female genital tract for about 2 – 5 days. So increasing the frequency of intercourse in one day might not be effective from pregnancy point of view. Also for someone who is trying for conception starting from the 10th day of the menstrual cycle, to the 18th day of the same cycle would be more effective pregnancy wise.
