It seems a little aggressive, but when a teenage boy is pushing boundaries, sometimes a mother’s tenderness isn’t helpful. Mary Alessi had to realize that her teenager at the time Chris wasn’t responding to her help and she needed Dad to take the lead. The mother and son relationship needed a reset because Chris wasn’t really listening – he was using her as a shield to avoid his own responsibility that his father was demanding from him.
