Pregnant ladies should avoid the following foods.
1️⃣ Processed, ready-to-eat foods such as packed chapathi, packed parota, fast food items, noodles, and pasta.
These items often contain large amounts of refined flour (maida) and chemicals.🧪
2️⃣Uncooked foods like pani puri, bhel puri, and sandwiches🥪that contain raw vegetables and unknown sources of water.
3️⃣Large-sized fish should be avoided as they tend to have high mercury content. This happens because larger fish eat smaller fish, accumulating more mercury.
Avoid fish like sea bass, knife fish, shark, and mackerel.
Instead, opt for smaller fish, which can be consumed two to three times a week to support the baby’s brain growth.
4️⃣Avoid carbonated drinks like Coke, Fanta, Pepsi, and soda to prevent gas disturbances.
5️⃣You can eat all types of fruit except raw papaya. While it is commonly consumed in regions like West Bengal and Odisha, raw papaya contains the chemical papain, which can lead to abortion.
