When you’re pregnant past your due date, you might go stir crazy with the waiting. It is very common for expecting mothers to go beyond their due date. Statistically, only about five percent of women actually give birth according to the estimated due date.
In most cases, the EDD is calculated on the basis of the last menstrual period (LMP). As 14th day of mensuration is considered as the ovulation phase, the estimated due date calculated may overestimate the age by two weeks. Due to this miscalculation, pregnancy gets termed as overdue.
